The Map Tab is viewable upon first entering the application. The Map tab controls and some specific mouse interactions help the user to change the map display.

Map Tab

The Map Tab controls are grouped into five sections on the Map ribbon: Navigate, Identify, Find Segments, Viewers, and Basemap. Each section is easily identifiable by its title on the menu bar. The image above shows the sections in red boxes. Most of these controls work directly with the map to zoom to certain locations or view Inventory data.

Mouse Interactions

The mouse, whether attached to a laptop or an independent object, can also be used to navigate the Map Frame. The user can utilize the mouse in these ways:

Mouse Action	Description
Pan	Click, hold, and drag the map to re-center.
Trackwheel Zoom	Zoom in by rolling the mouse wheel forward and zoom out by rolling the mouse wheel backward.
Touchpad Zoom	Zoom in by spreading fingers on the touchpad and zoom out by closing fingers.
