This tool is located on the System Administration section of the Bridge tab.

Function

The Import From BrM interface (SC Inventory Manager Import Data Icon.png) allows the user to schedule the import or run the import process immediately.

Layout

The image below shows the location of the table, links, Add Job, and button controls sections.

Controls

There are some controls offered in the Import From BrM interface.

Control Location Used To...
Scheduled Import from BrM Jobs Table Table List all Import from BrM jobs currently scheduled to be run in the RIMS Oracle database; view-only.
Cancel Selected Jobs Link Links Remove entries from the scheduled jobs list that are no longer needed.
View Error Log Link Links View a PDF report containing the errors encountered during the previous Import from BrM processes.
Clear Error Log Link Links Delete all entries from the Import from BrM error log.
Start Date Textbox/Calendar Select Add Job Show the date at which the Import from BrM should be run. 
Start Time Textbox/Clock Select Add Job Show the time at which the Import from BrM should be run.
Repeat Frequency Dropdown Add Job Specify how often the job should be executed (One Time, Daily, Weekly, Monthly, or Yearly).
Add Job Button Add Job Add a new job entry to the Scheduled Import from BrM Jobs table.
Import Only Updated Bridges Checkbox Add Job Specify that the user only wants to import bridges which have been modified in BrM since the last time the Import from BrM process was run.
Save Changes Button Button Controls Save all changes made to the Scheduled Import from BrM Jobs table to the RIMS database’s job scheduler.
Discard Changes Button Button Controls Discard all unsaved changes made to the Scheduled Import from BrM Jobs list and reset the table’s contents back to the current list of scheduled Import from BrM jobs from the RIMS database.
Run Immediately Button Button Controls Kick off the Import from BrM process immediately.

Remove Job Entries

If the user wishes to remove an entry from the Scheduled Import from BrM Jobs Table, they can utilize the functionality of the Cancel Selected Jobs link. To use this link, follow these steps:

  1. Select the checkboxes at the beginning of each scheduled job row that is not needed.
  2. Click on the "Cancel Selected Jobs" link to remove all selected jobs from the table.
  3. Select the "Save Changes" button to remove the jobs from the database scheduler.

Schedule Import

The user can also schedule a new Import from BrM job to be run at a future time. To add an "Import" job entry into the table, follow these steps:

  1. Locate the "Add Job" section on the interface.
  2. Enter a Start Date, Start Time, and Repeat Frequency.
  3. Check the "Import Only Updated Bridges" checkbox if desired.
  4. Click the "Add Job" button.
  5. Select the "Save Changes" button to officially schedule the entry in the RIMS database.

Run Immediately

As mentioned in the controls table, the "Run Immediately" button allows the user to kick off the Import from BrM process immediately. This button is always available to the user; therefore, the user can run the import for the current table entries at any point. Once the button is clicked, the system will run the import and wait for the process to complete. Upon completion, an error report will be displayed to the user.
