While the Import, Cross, and Coverage validation checks are separate checks the user can run, they follow the same pattern for instigation and possess the same report columns; therefore, all three can be discussed simultaneously. The Import, Cross, and Coverage Validation interfaces are used to run the corresponding validations (Import, Cross, or Coverage) for one or more data items. To access this interface, users can select the Import, Cross, or Coverage icon on the Validation tab.

Running the Report

To run an Import, Cross, or Coverage validation report:

1. Select a radio button option in the "Select the location(s) to check" section: Statewide or Specific Location.
   • If the "Specific Location" radio button is selected, fill out one or more of the associated picklists to run the validation checks on a subset of locations.
   • If the "Statewide" radio button is selected, the validation will run the checks on the full extent of data.
2. Select one or more checkboxes in the "Select the validation(s) to run" section. This can be done manually (selecting checkboxes), through the "Select All" link, or through the "Select TOPS Data Items" link.
3. Select an output type button: Open as PDF or Open Report Window. Report Windows offer additional functionality, such as mapping the results or opening the results in Excel Format.

Report Column

If an Import, Cross, or Coverage report is opened in a Report Window, it will contain the following columns:

Column	Description
Row	The row number on the table.
County	The County location of the segment.
Route ID	The route location of the segment.
From Measure	The beginning point of the segment.
To Measure	The ending point of the segment.
Problem Feature	The feature that failed the validation check.
Data Values	The value(s) of the feature that failed the validation check.
Failed Validation	The failure message of the validation check (configured in the Edit Rules interface).
(Pencil Icon)	The icon that leads to the Validation Edit menu.
