This internal tab is located on the Railroad Crossings interface, found on the Data section of the Rail tab.
Function
The Inventory internal tab displays inventory data collected for the currently displayed railroad crossing. This is the second tab on the Railroad Crossings interface. Information will only be available here after the user selects filter options and clicks the "Find" Button.
Layout
The Inventory internal tab has Inventory Fields, internal tabs, and some unique controls.
- The Inventory fields will be displayed first, underneath the Filters and Location sections. These fields are static and consist of three field types: Inventory Inspector, Inventory Date, and General Notes.
- The internal tabs appear directly below these fields; while the image below shows four internal tabs, the number of internal tabs vary based on the data for the railroad crossing stored on the General Information tab. The directions in the "Approaches Direction" column on the Approaches Table (General Info tab) will indicate the internal tab types.
- The controls offered here appear below the internal tabs. There are two controls: Deficiencies and Delete Approach Inventory. Both controls are discussed further in the Controls section.
Inventory Fields
The Inventory Fields give an overview of the inspector and the collection date for the inventory set. The user can also add general notes which provide needed details to the data.
Internal Tabs
The internal tabs can be used to view and enter data for specific approaches. As the user navigates through the approaches, the table, fields, and Location box will reflect the applicable information.
Controls
There are two controls unique to the Inventory internal tab. These controls are:
Control | Used To... |
Deficiencies Link | View, add, or delete the deficiencies for the record. |
Delete Approach Inventory Link | Delete the information for the current approach. |
Deficiency
As mentioned above, the Deficiencies link allows the user to view, add, or delete deficiency records for the applicable approach record.
View
To view the current deficiency records, the user can select the Deficiencies link. This selection will open a pop-up interface. The user can alter the sort order of this pop-up by clicking the column by which they wish to sort the table. Then, an arrow will appear to show if the table is sorted by the column in ascending order (up arrow) or descending order (down arrow).
Add
To add a deficiency record, the user can click the "Add Deficiency" link. Then, a new row will appear. When adding a deficiency record in this pop-up, the date field will default to the current Inventory Date, the filter radio button will default to Open Deficiencies, and the Work Status will default to Not Complete; however, the user can modify these selections. The user can click into each column row to enter the appropriate information. Then, they can click the "Save Changes" button.
Delete
To delete a deficiency record, the user can select the checkbox for the desired deficiency, then click the "Delete Selected" button.
