This tool is located on the Data section of the Rail tab.
Function
The Railway Crossings interface () is used to edit or view railroad crossing information. The General Information internal tab is the first to appear on this interface. From this screen, the user can query for all records, or a subset of records filtered by Crossing Number or Location. Once the filters and the "Find" button are selected, the user can view information on any of the four internal tabs; no information will be displayed before these steps are taken.
Layout
The image below shows the layout of the interface upon first entry. The interface is divided into three sections: Internal Tabs, Filters, and Information Box.
Internal Tabs
There are four internal tabs on this interface which relay different information on railroad crossings.
- General Information -- General data on the currently displayed railroad crossing.
- Inventory -- Inventory data collected for the currently displayed railroad crossing.
- Inspection -- Data collected by inspectors in the field.
- Letter Tracker -- Data on all deficiencies reported for a specific crossing number.
Filters
The filters shown in the above image are static; therefore, they will appear on all four internal tabs. The user must select a filter radio button option (All Records, Crossing No., or Location) and the "Filter" button to fill the internal tabs with information. The tabs will appear blank until a filter is inputted.
Location Section
Once the "Filter" button is selected, a Location section will be viewable in the Information Box directly below the filters. This is a static section that will appear on all tabs, and it is view-only. The system will automatically fill the fields here with information pertaining to the current record.
