This internal tab is located on the Railroad Crossings interface, found on the Data section of the Rail tab.
Function
The Inspection internal tab hosts the data collected by inspectors in the field. This is the third tab on the Railroad Crossings interface. Information will only be available here after the user selects filter options and clicks the "Find" Button.
Layout
The Inspection internal tab has Inspection Fields, internal tabs, and some unique controls.
- The Inspection fields will be displayed first, underneath the Filters and Location sections. These fields are static and consist of four field types: Inspection Date, Re-Inspection, Original Inspection, and Inspector.
- The internal tabs appear directly below these fields. While the image below shows two internal tabs, the number of internal tabs vary based on the data for the railroad crossing stored on the General Information tab. The directions in the "Approaches Direction" column on the Approaches Table (General Info tab) will indicate the internal tab types. These internal tabs for Inspection will be the same as those for Inventory.
- The controls offered here appear below the internal tabs. There are four controls: Delete Selected, Add Deficiency, Add Inspection, and Delete Inspection. All controls are discussed further in the Controls section.
Inspection Fields
The Inspection Fields give insight into the inspector and date of inspection. The inspection can also be marked as a Re-Inspection here by clicking the Re-Inspection checkbox. If checked, the user will be required to enter the Original Inspection date in order to relate the two inspection records together. Deficiencies related to the original inspection will be updated with the new Re-Inspection date when the records are imported.
Internal Tabs
The internal tabs can be used to view and enter inspection data for specific approaches. As the user navigates through the approaches, the fields will reflect the applicable information.
Controls
There are some controls unique to the Inspection internal tab. These controls are:
Control | Used To... |
Delete Selected Link | Remove an entry from the deficiency table. |
Add Deficiency Link | Add a deficiency record to the table. |
Add Inspection Link | Clear the screen to add a new inspection record. |
Delete Inspection Link | Delete the inspection record currently displayed on the user's screen. |
Deficiency Records
Deficiency records can be created on the Inspection tab. To add a record, the user can click the "Add Deficiency" link. This will immediately add a row to the table above the link, allowing the user to select an owner and type a deficiency for the record. The user can select the "Save Changes" button at the bottom of the interface to confirm this new record.
