This internal tab is located on the Bridge Data Maintenance interface on the Bridge tab.
Query Tab
In order to use the Bridge Data Maintenance interface, the user must fill the desired fields in the Query internal tab, the first tab on the user's screen. This tab allows the user to search for the desired bridges using filters. It will also fill the remainder of the interface and enable the tabs.
Query Fields
The user is able to query for one or more bridges by Asset ID, Structure Number, Location, Facility Carried, or Crossing Name. Each of these query options have their own radio buttons and associated fields.
Field Name & Type | Associated Radio Button | Used To... |

Asset ID Dropdown | Asset ID | Show all Asset IDs associated with active bridges in the RIMS bridge table. |

Structure Number Dropdown | Structure Number | Enter a full or partial structure number; this performs a wildcard search to return all bridges whose Structure Number contains the value specified. |
Location Radio Button | - | Query for bridges based on the entered location information; return all bridges based on the bridge On Route and Under Route locations and return bridges where the query route is subordinate. |
District Dropdown | Location | Query for a bridge based on district by selecting from a list of districts in the state. |

Button Controls
There are also two button controls that activate or reverse the query field selections:
Control | Used To... |
Find Button | Populate the interface with the bridges meeting the user specified query criteria. |
Reset Button | Remove the current selections and revert the interface to its default state. |
Run Query
To successfully run a query, the user must follow these steps:
- Select a radio button (Asset ID, Structure Number, Location, Facility Carried, or Crossing Name).
- Fill its associated fields.
- Click the "Find" button.
"Find" Function
When a query is executed using the "Find" button, the following processing steps are taken:
- The entered query criteria are validated to verify all required fields contain values.
- The list of matching bridge records is shown in the query results table, sorted using these rules:
- If a Structure Number query was performed, the results are sorted by Structure Number.
- If a Location query was performed, the results are sorted by the ascending mile point location for the query route.
- If a Facility Carried or Crossing Name query was performed, the results are sorted by ascending Asset ID numbers.
- If the query results contain any bridge ramps, special logic is executed for each bridge ramp to verify traffic data exists for the ramps.
- All bridges in the query results will be displayed on the Inventory Manager map as points. The Asset ID, Structure Number, Structure Name, On Route and Milepoint, Direction, Facility Carried, and Crossing Name will be displayed in a hover textbox when the user hovers over a mapped point.
- The first bridge record in the Query Results table will be selected and the bridge will be displayed in the other tabs. The user can navigate to another bridge if desired by clicking on that bridge’s row in the query results table.
- When a bridge is selected and displayed in the tabs, the system will automatically update fields values based on values stored in the Road Inventory data tables.
- The User Metrics counter for Bridge Data Maintenance will be incremented for the current user.
